Maumelle Chamber of Commerce Business Brief Lunch

Maumelle, AR - On Thursday, March 24th the Maumelle Area Chamber of Commerce will be hosting our bi-monthly Business Brief Luncheon at The Maumelle Country Club located at 100 Club Manor Drive in  Maumelle.  The meet and greet will begin at 11:30am and will give attendees the opportunity to network and make real business connections.  The catered lunch and formal program will begin at 12:00pm.  Cost is $18 and includes the guest speaker and a lunch Catered by The Maumelle Country Club.

Our guest speaker for our March  meeting is Jennifer Long Executive Director of the Children’s Protection Center in Little Rock .The Mission of the Children’s Protection Center is to provide a child-friendly facility where professionals work together to protect and treat child abuse victims and their families, to prevent child abuse in all its forms, and to hold offenders accountable."Our response to abuse of a child places the welfare of the child first. We work to meet the needs of children and their non-offending families with sensitivity and competent care. Our team of professionals does everything possible to prevent re-traumatizing a child."  Jennifer will also give a presentation on the River City Dragon Boat Races that will be held in May 21st at Lake Willastein in Maumelle.  All proceeds of the event will benefit the Children’s Protection Center .

Jennifer Long is the Executive Director of the Children’s Protection Center in Little Rock and the Vice President of Children’s Advocacy Centers of Arkansas. She has served as Executive Director at the Children’s Protection Center for the past four years.  Jennifer has an extensive background in coordination, event planning, and fund development for non-profit organizations, both domestic and foreign. In Arkansas, she served as development coordinator for The Allen School and as Executive Director of the Arkansas Foundation for Skin Cancer before her career moved into child advocacy.  Prior to 2007, Jennifer’s Masters of Public Administration degree from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication degree from the University of Central Arkansas served her well as a founding board member of the Kaga City International Cultural Exchange Association in Ishikawa, Japan, and an English teacher for the Ishikawa Board of Education. Both of these organizations allowed Jennifer to help others develop an understanding of diverse cultures and the people living in these cultures.
